Kyle Lowry achieves feat but Raptors lose to Bucks

(Tampa) Giannis Antetokounmpo had 24 points, regained 18 rebounds and added nine assists to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to a 115-108 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday in Tampa.

In the loss, Kyle Lowry scored 11 straight points for the Raptors (7-11), allowing his team to reduce the Bucks lead to 106-102 with less than two minutes to go. However, the Bucks (11-6) held on.

Earlier in the game, Lowry had become the third player to reach the 10,000 point plateau with the Raptors, thanks to a three-point basket on the team’s second shot of the game after just 51 seconds of play.

DeMar DeRozan (13,296) and Chris Bosh (10,275) are the two other players to have achieved such a feat in the Raptors jersey.

Khris Middleton helped the Bucks win with 24 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. Brook Lopez added 20 points and seven rebounds.

As for the Raptors, Norm Powell has achieved a personal high this season with 26 points. For Powell, it was a fourth straight game with at least 20 points.

“I think there are a lot of good things to be learned from this game, there are a lot of positives to take away,” said head coach Nick Nurse.

However, he lamented some hiccups in terms of execution on the attack.

“To have any hope of defeating a high-caliber team, these are parts of our game that need to be cleaned up,” added Nurse.

Six other Raptors players scored at least ten points. Lowry ended the game with 21 points, including 14 in the fourth quarter alone.

The Raptors, who suffered a second straight loss, will face the Sacramento Kings on Friday in Tampa.
